Joy Jones is a counselor intern at Healing Hearts. She is working on her Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. She holds a bachelor of arts in Social Work from Southeastern Louisiana University. Joy counsels from a biblical worldview and has been trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI), and Prepare/Enrich. Prior to pursuing her Master’s degree, she has been involved in Christian Ministry for 11 years and has served both domestically and internationally. She has experience working with children, adolescents, families, and individuals. She has served as a crisis pregnancy counselor at a community resource center, in a group home for troubled youth, and in a safe house for women and children who were rescued from Human Trafficking. Joy is an avid coffee drinker and people watcher. She loves cloud watching and stargazing and her favorite things are rainbows, otters, and wildflowers. She wishes her life were a musical so that her random off-pitch singing outbursts would be acceptable. She and her husband have a young son and two fur-babies. She dreams of one day living on a farm with chickens, goats, and a cow.
Joy’s fees are on a sliding scale based on client income.
