MEET YOUR THERAPIST

Christine Varnado,

LPC-S, MAMFT, Th.M.

Christine is a licensed professional counselor supervisor with over a decade of counseling experience. She loves connecting with her clients to help them reach their goals of mental health.

Clients she is equipped to counsel are children (ages 4 and up), adolescents, adults, and families. She has sought out extensive training in trauma and working with kids and adults from hard places. Her approach to counseling is relational, solutions-focused, biblically based, and clinically grounded.

Christine is a TBRI (trust based relational intervention) practitioner, trained in EMDR (eye movement desensitization reprocessing), Family Systems, Cognitive behavior therapy, play therapy, and polyvagal theory. She loves learning, and seeks to consistently be pursuing knowledge to best serve her clients.

She considers it a privilege to walk alongside her clients in their struggles and celebrations. Authentic connection between self, others, and God are high priorities in her own life and she likes to help others connect in these ways as well. Humor and play also play a role in her therapy approach.

Christine has an undergraduate degree in mass communication and psychology, a masterā€™s degree in marriage and family therapy, and another masterā€™s in theology. She combines her education and experience for a unique and personal experience for each of her clients.

She accepts most forms of Blue Cross Blue Shield Insurance (request a form to see what BCBS will cover) and private pay at $115 per 50 -minute session. She generally likes to meet weekly, then as goals are reached start tapering sessions off slowly. Itā€™s hard to say how many sessions are needed as this is determined case by case. You can trust that Christine will try to be as efficient as possible in treatment planning. It is important to recognize that many patterns of thinking, feeling, and behaving have roots in early childhood that require intention and time to change.
